Study 3: Ayurveda & Health Promotion in the Journal of Social Behavior & Personality

Overview: In the current studies we evaluated the effects on self-reported mental and physical health on the Maharishi Ayurveda Panchakarma Program.

142 subjects were surveyed after a 1 – 2 week Maharishi Ayurveda Panchakarma Program for changes in health symptoms compared to 60 control subjects who participated in a didactic class for the same period of time.

Conclusion: The results showed that the experimental subjects reported significantly greater improvements in well-being, energy-vitality, strength-stamina, appetite and digestive patterns, rejuvenation and youthfulness compared to the control subjects (p=0.5 to < .0001).
