Stress is a major cause of imbalance in the body and mind. It’s estimated that 80 percent of health problems today are caused or aggravated by stress. As stress accumulates, one of the first areas of the body to move out of balance is the digestion. A variety of health problems can arise from digestion that is too fast, too slow, or irregular.
Improper diet, lack of quality sleep, and stress can all affect our digestion. When we improve in any of these areas, then our digestion will also improve.

But proper digestion can improve the quality of your life to such a vast degree that it’s definitely worth it.

Modern Medicine
We are fortunate to have modern medicine to handle accidents and provide necessary surgery. However, modern medicine focuses mostly on disease after it has already arisen, rather than on preventative health care. Even with all the great advances in medicine today, many people still find that their doctor isn’t able to provide relief from their ailments, whether they are minor symptoms or major health problems.
Seeking Relief
Sometimes doctors can’t even come up with a clear diagnosis of the health issue. Many people with chronic health problems try to find relief for years without getting significant results, and either continue seeking medical advice or suffer and struggle in silence.
Personally, I’m not impressed with the search for new cures for a disease, when the real focus of health care should be on preventing health problems in the first place. What does impress me is that so many disorders can actually be prevented before we become ill and have to seek medical care.

In recent years, more and more people have begun to explore alternative medicine. This is a good first step. But even in this field there is a wide range of services and products, and an equally wide range in the quality of care. This can make it hard to know where to start in the field of alternative medicine.

Maharishi Ayurveda teaches us how to eat and how to live so that disease doesn’t arise in the first place. It offers a wide range oftraditional herbal remedies to help restore proper functioning in the body, mind and emotions.
It also gives us the Transcendental Meditation technique to develop our consciousness, ways to dive within and become conscious of our emotions, feelings and perceptions, as well as the needs of our bodies.
Health and Inner Peace
I’ve come to realize that ideal health and deep inner peace are not mirages, unavailable to most. Optimal health and inner peace are attainable through very simple techniques available to all.
My intent is to inspire anyone who seeks to lead a happy, healthy and joyous life, and who wants to share such a life with his or her loved ones.
